As police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Liam Payne's death, two employees have been accused of reportedly smuggling narcotics to the singer in a Dove soap box
Cops are now questioning staff at the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires as two employees have been accused of smuggling hard drugs in a Dove soap box to Liam Payne ahead of his untimely death.
On October 16, the One Direction singer tragically fell from his third-floor balcony of the Argentinian hotel after reports of him being "visibly out of his mind." And as police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Liam's death, a cleaner and another member of the hotel staff are being accused of providing him with various narcotics, according to reports by the Daily Mail.
After the 31-year-old musician's sudden passing, police searched his hotel suite where they discovered a shattered television screen, white powder residue, a piece of scrunched-up burnt aluminum foil, and a burnt soda can. Along with this, there was an empty Dove soap box pictured, which is how police reportedly believe the drugs were transported.
Liam Payne 'quit rehab after just 48 hours' just months before his tragic death
Since the news broke that two staffers could've been connected to the death case, management of the hotel have reportedly fired one member of their staff. As hotel employees continue to speak out about the tragic night, a source - who claims to be a close friend of Liam - told the news outlet: "There were two guys at the hotel that were giving Liam drugs."
The insider explained: "They sent taxis out to collect packages for him. One of the guys was working in the cleaning department. After Liam died, they noticed that one taxi was sent to the cleaner's home address. The hotel manager asked him why the taxi had gone to his home and when he couldn't give an explanation he was fired."
Speaking on Liam's struggle with drug and alcohol addiction, the source alleged: "Liam was doing everything to stay clean but as soon as he got to the hotel these people were offering him alcohol and drugs."
Since the singer's death, city police have claimed that Liam was reportedly under the influence of a substance called "Cristal." This is a drug known to cause psychotic attacks and hallucinations. Local law enforcement told TMZ that Cristal typically causes users to experience aggressive behavior and feel extreme highs and lows.
Earlier this year, Liam was reported to have checked into rehab for treatment back in July. The program he was enrolled for was set to take 28 days, but the father of one chose to walk out after only 48 hours. Liam's decision to leave the facility early reportedly devastated his close friends and family, as they saw the move as him giving up on "overcoming his addictions."
